PARTNERSHIP WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

  1. African Union Commission (AUC)

Considering that AAEC plays a central role in the promotion of activities related to Trade facilitation and Single Window implementation in particularly in Africa, the AUC intends to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Alliance in order to strengthen the capacities of Countries in their Single Window projects. This MOU should be entry in force during 2018.

  • Afreximbank

Having a common objective which is promoting intra African Trade, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) started discussion with AAEC in order to look for projects that both entities could implement together. During a meeting organized on the sidelines of the SWC held in Accra, the two organizations identified e-commerce sector as an area for collaboration. It is to be noted that Afreximbank is a Pan-African established in 1993, financing and promoting intra- and extra-African trade.

  1. PERSPECTIVES IN 2018
  • Generalization of the E-CO pilot project in WAEMU.


Thanks to financial support from UEMOA, AACE will organize in 2018 the second phase of the project. It aims to organize awareness workshops and set up the E-co platform in the 8 member’s countries.

  • Extension of sensitization workshops on the concept of Single Window in 6 African countries belonging to the LDC:


With the support of UNECA/ATPC, AAEC will organize 6 awareness workshops on Single window concept in 6 African LDC countries. With the entry in force of the TFA, these workshops will be a framework for discussing certain TF articles related to the agreement.

  • Implementation of the AFTRA Project in the RECs

It’s about setting up a platform for exchanging commercial documents (permits, certificates, invoice).
